When gaps opened in the march route, some of the more enthusiastic marchers double-timed to close up ranks. Here the unit from the KPD – Kommunistisches Partei Deutschlands – breaks ranks and runs forward.
The KPD, newly organized in Hamburg in 1968 stated that the DKP – the West German Communist party – was “for the ruling class not even a political danger.” In other words, main line Communists were not Red enough.
